QuickBooks internal controls

June 5, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Faculty: Ian Shuman, CPA, QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPAs

Course Objective: Come learn about some often ignored internal control features in QuickBooks that will make even your auditors happy.

The course will discuss a variety of under-utilized features and will contrast how each work in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.  These topics will include:

  • Available accounting preferences to set defaults and warning message options
  • The closing date feature- the closest thing QuickBooks has to a hard close
  • Audit trail tracking of activity by user
  • The various types of users and the related customizable permission options

Using these features correctly can help avoid errors throughout the year and can give your auditor greater comfort in your accounting system.  Both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online try to provide flexibility and ease of use along with the rigidity and complexity inherent in any accounting system.  They provide different answers to that challenge so we’ll discuss the related strengths and weaknesses of each software option.

Registration Fee:

$49.00 for Center Members and PIA; $49.00 for YNPNdc Members; $89.00 for All Others

*Full refunds are available to those who cancel within 48 hours.
