Performance Measurement 201: Mission, Metrics, and Measurement

October 10, 2019 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Faculty: Britt Hogue, Principal, The Collective Good

Course Objective: Learn the fundamentals of performance measurement and identify keys to developing a results-based process for monitoring and improving outcomes for your organization.

If you took the Center’s ‘Developing Your Logic Model’ class, this course is the next step in bringing this conceptual model to life. If you are a nonprofit leader or Board member who wants to ensure that your organization does what it has set out to do, this course is for you.

This session demonstrates how performance measurement enables an organization to continuously learn and improve in its work, leading to better outcomes. After learning about ways to focus management by identifying the right metrics and analyzing results, participants will explore ways to communicate progress internally and externally, course correct when necessary, and, over time, gain critical insights about program effectiveness and impact.

Participants will be asked to bring to class their theory of change, or logic model, from which they will build a metrics framework and draft a dashboard to use in communicating and analyzing results.
