In the social space, we are always looking for ways to determine whether our work is having a real impact. Most organizations value results and feel a sense of responsibility to the communities they serve, yet translating those intentions into consistent practices can be hard. Doing so with an equity mindset that does not perpetuate a savior narrative can be even harder. But it is possible!

This session will begin with a conversation about what an organizational culture that values results and accountability looks and feels like. We will explore examples of organizations effectively using theories of change and data to inform and improve their work. We will wrestle with how to use data to help measure and manage our work without turning the people and communities we serve into statistics and charts. This will be a working session, where class participants are invited to share their challenges so that we can, together, discover opportunities to work differently toward greater and more just outcomes.
