Become an expert at community assessment, the process of gathering, analyzing, and reporting data about the strengths and needs of a community. In this training participants will learn when and how a community needs assessment can be essential in developing a more successful program. This training will teach you the purpose, benefits, and steps of how to engage in a meaningful community assessment. Participants gain the fundamentals of asking the right questions to inform their current and potential program and gather, analyze, and report data, and thus begin the process of creating a needs assessment report for their community. The training will provide the practical tools you will need to be effective, including a brief discussion on survey design and administration. Finally, we will walk through the process of writing and distributing an assessment report and ultimately using the assessment results to improve your organization’s performance.
