Earn recognition, cash awards, enhanced credibility and more

The Center recognizes that nonprofits in our region perform extraordinary feats every day and yet still continuously strive to do more and do it better. Through our competitions, we provide a way to reward and enhance your efforts.

The advantages of competing for an award include:

  • incentive to complete an internal assessment and the benefits of doing so
  • valuable insights and recommendations from a review panel of experts
  • the opportunity to learn about best practices, new approaches and innovative ideas in the nonprofit sector

Award winners also earn cash grants and boasting rights, enhancing credibility with funders, clients, volunteers and supporters.

Competitions are judged by selection committees composed of local leaders in the nonprofit, foundation, corporate and government sectors. Center staff members facilitate the award process and overall management, but they have no voting role during the adjudication process. Representatives from sponsors may also participate as non-voting observers on the selection committees.

Every effort is made to protect the integrity of the award process, adhering to best practices and high ethical standards, such as monitoring confidentiality and conflicts of interest.

“The expertise of Center staff and the membership is incredibly valuable, as is recognition from an organization of non-profit thought-leaders and expert practitioners.”
